Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and carers,
Please see below some key messages:
Working in Partnership to Help Every Child Thrive
At Avanti, we firmly believe that the strongest outcomes for our children come when school and homework join together in partnership. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child grow academically, socially and emotionally.
One of the most important ways you can support your child's success is by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Good attendance allows children to build confidence, develop positive friendships and make consistent progress in their learning. Every day in school matters and we appreciate your commitment to making attendance a priority.
Parental engagement also plays a vital role in your child's education. Each week, home learning is uploaded to Microsoft Teams, providing valuable opportunities for children to reinforce and extend their classroom learning. We kindly ask that you support your child in completing these activities and upload their completed work to Teams so that teachers can celebrate their achievements and monitor their progress.
Reading at home remains one of the most powerful ways to support your child's learning. Please continue to read regularly with your child and ensure that their Home Reading Log is completed each time they read. This helps us monitor reading engagement, celebrate positive reading habits and provide the right support where needed.
Together, by working in partnership, we can ensure every child at Avanti has the best possible opportunities to flourish.
Car Park Reminder
As outlined during our parent induction sessions, the school car park is provided to support families with children in Preschool to Year 1 only. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping us keep this area safe for our youngest pupils. Thank you to all parents who are displaying their car park pass on car dashboards. Please continue to display car park passes everyday – this will allow school staff to quickly check which cars are allowed to enter the school car park.
If the car park is full, parents must not double park or block other vehicles. Double parking creates significant safety risks and prevents the smooth flow of traffic, particularly at our busiest times of the day.
Over the coming weeks, we will be reviewing the use of the car park. Please be aware that if concerns continue and the area cannot be used safely, we will have no option but to close the car park to parent use after the October break.
I am asking all parents and carers to support the school by using the car park responsibly and safely. By demonstrating integrity, showing respect for our school grounds and putting the safety of our children first, we can ensure this facility remains available for those families who need it most.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and continued support in helping us keep every member of our school community safe.
Pupil Leadership opportunities

Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Sunflower room | Sunflowers have been using their amazing nurture skills in role play to look after the babies and the poorly patients. We have been using a range of medical instruments and learning where they can be used on our bodies. | ![]() |
Preschool | The Pre-School children have really enjoyed telling stories and using their imagination while playing with the dinosaur small world. They have created their own stories, explored different characters and acted out exciting dinosaur adventures, what creative story tellers! | ![]() |
Reception | Reception Class have been exploring the magic of watercolour painting! We experimented with mixing colours and discovered how to create light and dark shades. Using these new skills, we painted beautiful trees, carefully blending colours to bring our artwork to life. | ![]() |
Year 1 | Year 1 put their courage, focus and perseverance to the test during an exciting archery session. They showed bravery, stayed focused and kept trying our best even when it was tricky — a wonderful way to celebrate all that they had learned about themselves! | ![]() |
Year 2 | Year 2 enjoyed their first week of creativity by exploring mark making in the style of an American artist called Beth Krommes. The children used paints, crayons and oil pastels to recreate a wonderful 'wave' and fiery 'flames'. What amazing artists we have in Year 2! | ![]() |
Year 3 | Year 3 have been enjoying their music lessons with Miss Jones. They've been clapping the syllables in their names and key vocabulary such as pitch, tempo and beat ! | ![]() |
Year 4 | Year 4 have been learning about the features of a river and used house point balls to demonstrate the flow of water during different parts of a river such as the mouth and the rapids. | ![]() |

Rights Respecting School information

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.
Rights Respecting School information
Article 12: Respect for Children's Views
Article 12 reminds us that every child has the right to express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions on matters that affect them. Adults should listen carefully and take children's views seriously, considering their age and understanding.
As we learn about this Article, we can understand that our voices matter. Children should be given opportunities to share their ideas, and they should also listen respectfully to the views of others.
Why it's important:
It helps children understand that their opinions matter.
It encourages children to speak confidently and respectfully.
It teaches children to listen to and value the views of others.
It helps children develop decision-making and communication skills.
Learning to share ideas and listen to others helps children become active and responsible citizens.
At Home Activity:
Create a "My Voice Matters" Speech Bubble
Draw and cut out a large speech bubble on a piece of paper.
Inside the speech bubble, write or draw things that are important to you, such as your favourite activities, ideas for making school better, ways to help others, or things that make you happy.
In the centre of the speech bubble, write:
"My voice matters, and I can share my views respectfully."
Talk together about times when children can share their opinions at home, school, and in the community.
Discuss why it is important to listen carefully when someone else is speaking and how everyone benefits when different ideas are heard.
Challenge:
Decorate your speech bubble with colours, pictures, or symbols that represent your interests, talents, and personality. Remember that every child has the right to be heard, and everyone should listen to others with respect and kindness.
