Head of Secondary's Message
A very warm welcome to the 2026–27 academic year. It has been wonderful to see our new Year 7 students begin their secondary school journey with such enthusiasm, and equally heartening to welcome back our Year 8-11 students, refreshed and ready to embrace the year ahead. I would also like to extend a special welcome to the new members of staff joining Avanti Fields School this term. We are delighted to have them as part of our Avanti family and look forward to the energy, experience and expertise they will bring to our school community.
As we begin a new academic year, it is also an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of our students from last year. I am delighted to share another successful year of GCSE results at Avanti Fields School and am incredibly proud of all that our students have achieved. The improvement across our headline measures is a wonderful reflection of their hard work, determination and resilience, alongside the commitment and dedication of our staff, who have supported and nurtured our students both academically and pastorally.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our families, whose encouragement, trust and partnership have been integral to this success. As our former Year 11 students move on to the next exciting stage of their lives, we wish them every success. Their achievements reflect the strength of our community and the transformative power of an education rooted in character, service and aspiration.
It has been equally encouraging to see our current students settle so positively into their learning. Our teachers have planned rich and challenging learning experiences, and it is inspiring to see the curiosity, focus and determination that students are already bringing into their classrooms.
Our Year 11 Geography students have already had the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom through a successful GCSE Geography fieldwork trip. Students worked diligently throughout the day to collect and record the data required for the fieldwork element of their GCSE course, applying their geographical knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.
We were incredibly proud of the maturity, enthusiasm and commitment they demonstrated throughout the day. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they represented Avanti Fields School wonderfully, showing respect and consideration for one another and the wider community. They were a real credit to the school, and I would like to thank both our students and the staff who supported them in making the day such a positive and valuable learning experience.
This first half term is already shaping up to be a busy and exciting one. We have a number of important parent information evenings scheduled, providing opportunities for families to learn more about the year ahead and how we can work together to support our students. We are also launching an extensive programme of extracurricular and enrichment activities, with clubs and events designed to extend learning beyond the classroom while enabling students to develop their talents, explore new interests and build friendships.
As always, strong partnerships between home and school are central to ensuring that every child thrives. I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support, encouragement and collaboration throughout the year. By working together, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to flourish academically, personally and in character.
I look forward to an exciting and successful year ahead for our whole Avanti Fields community.

Celebrating iGCSE Sanskrit success
We are delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students in this year’s iGCSE Sanskrit examinations with 63% of the students achieving a grade A* and 82% achieving grades A*-A.
These excellent results are a reflection of the students’ hard work, commitment and dedication throughout their studies. Many students went above and beyond, regularly attending after-school sessions and online lessons during the holidays, demonstrating tremendous determination and a real desire to succeed.
A special thank you to Mrs Jani for her hard work, dedication and continued support of the students. Her commitment to providing additional sessions, encouragement and guidance has played an important part in helping our students achieve such wonderful outcomes.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their achievements and for the perseverance they have shown throughout their Sanskrit studies. Huge congratulations to all our students!

Celebrating LAMDA Success
We are delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our first ever LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) cohort of 48 students who successfully completed their LAMDA examinations with us last academic year. These students undertook weekly LAMDA lessons with our visiting coach Claire, who guided them towards their examinations which took place at our school in July 2026.
Students achieved qualifications in Speaking in Public and Acting, ranging from Grades 2 to 6, with an exceptional set of results: 42 Distinctions, 5 Merits and 1 Pass. These nationally recognised qualifications help students develop confidence, communication, public speaking and performance skills, and we are extremely proud of the commitment and hard work shown by everyone involved.
Congratulations to all of our LAMDA students on their excellent achievements!
AthenaSTEM University Residential
Congratulations to the following year 11 pupils: Barleen K, Krishi G, Tasha C, Jeevan K, Shriya M. We are so proud of the wonderful praise received from Loughborough University staff and student ambassadors. You all conducted yourselves with integrity, humility, dedication and determination, showing your passion for sustainability.
During the summer holidays, these pupils had the opportunity to attend a 4-day STEM residential at Loughborough University. This brilliant opportunity allowed our girls to work with university postgraduates and staff, as well as professionals from industry. They lived the life of a university student, attended various sessions, participated in a sustainability project, delivered presentations, worked in groups with other schools, had team building activities and experienced planned evening socials.
“Thank you so much for your support with Athena STEM last week. We enjoyed hosting your students and getting to hear more about their future aspirations and hopes for the future. The judging panel was very impressed by their final presentations and their ability to work with their project group, including girls they had never met before. "I think the residential was an insightful experience for me personally as it really helped boost my confidence in terms of pushing me out my comfort zones in specific sessions- talking to new people (including the staff), presenting our work to peers and also testing out new things that we had just learnt about - l feel that l have gained so much from this. The evening sessions were super fun and they had something for everyone to enjoy . I also especially liked the scavenger hunt on the first day! " Barleen K
“I would say that it was fun to learn about sustainability from a hands-on standpoint, with practical and creative ways to apply what we learnt through building our islands. The social times they made for us in the evenings was very enjoyable too, with the parties and scavenger hunt. I made a lot of new friends and I absolutely loved it!!”
Sanskrit Lessons for Years 7, 8 & 9
We are delighted to announce the introduction of Sanskrit lessons for students in Years 7, 8 and 9 who would like to explore one of the world's oldest and most influential languages on Mondays afterschool..
Why Learn Sanskrit?
Sanskrit is much more than an ancient language. It is a gateway to India's rich cultural, literary, philosophical and scientific heritage. Learning Sanskrit offers students a range of valuable benefits:
Strengthens language skills by developing understanding of grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary and the origins of many Indian languages.
Enhances concentration and memory through the study of vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar patterns.
Connects students with their heritage by providing direct access to ancient texts, literature, stories, philosophy and traditional knowledge.
Supports the learning of other languages as many words and concepts in Indian languages, and even some English words, have connections to Sanskrit.
Encourages critical and analytical thinking through its highly structured and logical grammatical system.
Fosters an appreciation of literature and culture by introducing timeless works, inspiring stories and influential ideas.
Promotes a well-rounded education by broadening cultural awareness while developing communication and language-learning skills.
Lessons will introduce students to:
Sanskrit vocabulary and everyday expressions
The Devanagari script and correct pronunciation
Reading and writing in Sanskrit
Grammar and sentence formation
Sanskrit verses, stories and literature
Fascinating aspects of Sanskrit culture and heritage
An Opportunity to discover a timeless language
Learning Sanskrit provides students with the opportunity to connect with the past while developing skills that remain valuable today. Whether students are complete beginners or already have some familiarity with Sanskrit, these lessons will offer an engaging, enriching and enjoyable learning experience.

Gujarati Lessons
We are delighted to announce the introduction of Gujarati language lessons, designed to help students develop practical and confident communication skills in Gujarati.
The lessons will focus on building students’ abilities in speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and sentence formation. Students will gradually develop their language skills through structured activities, conversation practice, reading exercises, and written work.
Learning Gujarati gives students the ability to understand and communicate in another language, while also strengthening their overall language-learning skills. Regular practise in speaking, listening, reading, and writing helps students become more confident and independent users of Gujarati.

Further information and details will be shared after the initial interest form data has been collected. Please note, if there are not viable numbers, we will not be able run the classes.
