Head of Secondary's Message


On Wednesday 12th November, we held our first School Improvement Board (SIB) of the year. This was an important part of our ongoing journey to review progress, celebrate success and continue to strengthen the education and care we provide. Early feedback has been very positive, highlighting strong curriculum provision and exemplary behaviour and attitudes. Our students were articulate, confident, respectful and deeply proud of their school. They continue to be a shining example of our values and were a true credit to themselves, their families and our wider Avanti community.  I would also like to thank all staff involved in the day


Next Friday 21st November, we will be hosting our Trust-wide INSET day focusing on Reading for Pleasure, led by the Open University. Please note that school will be closed to all students on this day. 


Our first Parents’ Consultation Evening of the academic year will take place on Thursday, 4th December, from 14:00 to 19:00. This will be a face-to-face event for Year 11. Parents have received a separate communication with details on how to book appointments via School Cloud, which will open on Monday, 24th November. 

This evening will be an important opportunity to receive personalised feedback on your child’s progress following the recent PIP 1 mock exams, along with practical advice on how you can best support their learning at home. Parents are also encouraged to visit the Careers Stand in the dining hall for any queries related to Post-16 (PS16) applications. Please note that the secondary school will finish at 12:50 for all students and remote work will be set on TEAMS for periods 5 and 6.

Flu Vaccination for students (Reception - Y11)

The Immunisation team from Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust will be visiting our school on 20th November for Flu Vaccination for pupils from Reception to year 11.

Musical Skills

At Avanti Fields there are a wide range of opportunities for your child to develop their musical skills. We currently have teachers who come to school to teach a range of instruments either as a 1:1 or small group. If you are interested or would like more details please use contact the teachers directly using the information provided.
