Primary Parent's Bulletin 02.10.26
Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to personally thank you for the wonderful support you continue to show our school. As Headteacher, I truly value the strong partnership we have with our families, as we know that when home and school work together, our children thrive.
Next week, we will be having our first Parent Consultation evenings of this academic year. We look forward to welcoming all of you as you meet with your child / children’s class teacher(s) to discuss their progress within class. We cannot stress the importance of this discussion and the benefits of the home-school partnership.
Thank you once again for your continued support and partnership.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind Regards
Ms Thakore
Reminder : Car parking
We kindly ask parents to cooperate in parking safely and responsibly during drop off and pick up times.
Recently we have noticed an increase in congestion and inconsiderate parking around school gates along with Bhaktivedanta Marg which creates a serious safety risk for our pupils and wider community.
To help keep everyone safe and to ensure the smooth running of the school day, we kindly ask families to continue with their usual drop-off and collection routines (ONLY pre-school - Year 2 parents permitted to use the school car park for drop off and collection). In particular, we strongly encourage the continued use of park-and-stride arrangements, rather than attempting to drive into the school car park, turning into Bhaktivedanta Marg or attempting 3-point turns on the roads leading to the school.
Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support in keeping our school community safe.
Reminder : Parent's Evening
Our first Parents' Evenings of the academic year will take place on Tuesday 6th October and Thursday 8th October.
These meetings are an important opportunity to meet with your child's class teacher, discuss how your child has settled into their new class, celebrate their successes and ask any questions you may have. Teachers will also share your child's next steps in learning and provide practical advice on how you can support learning at home.
Please note that on Tuesday 6th October and Thursday 8th October, the school day will finish at 2.30pm for all children, unless your child is attending a pre-booked after-school club. Thank you for making the necessary arrangements for collection on these days.
We look forward to meeting with you and continuing our strong partnership to ensure every child has the very best opportunities to thrive.

Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Sunflower room | The Sunflower children have been enjoying fun food-tasting activities! They explored different flavours, textures and smells, and had lots of fun trying something new. | ![]() |
Preschool | This week Pre-school have enjoyed developing our co-ordination, we drove cars along the road and roundabouts which took lots of concentration! | ![]() |
Reception | Reception children had a wonderful time learning about the Eatwell Guide. With the help of the fantastic nutritionists, they sorted different foods into the correct food groups and learned about making healthy choices. | ![]() |
Year 1 | Year 1 have really enjoyed exploring Purple Mash this week and have had a fantastic time creating their own games. They have shown great creativity, enthusiasm, and confidence while developing their computing skills.
| ![]() |
Year 2 | Year 2 have had lots of fun travelling back in time to explore who Samuel Pepys was from the Great Fire of London during 1666. The children discovered that he worked in the Royal Navy and wrote in a special diary after observing the great fire for four long days! They even had the opportunity to write key words and messages in short hand just like Mr Pepys himself! I wonder where our historical learning will take us next…

Year 3 | Year 3 have had a fantastic time stepping back into the Stone Age! They painted their own ancient artwork on slate, created informative fact files, and produced some brilliant images of famous prehistoric figures, including Cheddar Man. We've loved exploring the past through creativity, research and hands-on learning! | ![]() |
Year 4 | Year 4 have been creating their own musical compositions with Miss Jones in Music this week. We can't wait to hear her play them to us next week :)

Avanti Fields Joint Christmas Card Fundraising Project
This Christmas, our Avanti Fields Primary and Secondary schools are joining together for a special fundraising project! Pupils are invited to create their own Christmas artwork on A4 paper, which can then be turned into personalised Christmas cards and other gifts featuring their own designs. To take part, parents simply visit mycardproject.com/order, enter the code MCP6WQ, upload their child's artwork and share the link with friends and family so they can purchase cards and other items featuring the pupil's design. Please note that artwork must be uploaded and orders placed by 24 October. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated back to the schools. The Secondary School will use its share to support our chosen charities: The Local Goshalla, Action for Children and The Global Hindu Federation, while the Primary School will use its proceeds towards a charity of our choice that the children will vote for democratically in class. This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to showcase their creativity while helping to raise money for our schools and wider community.
Rights Respecting School information

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.
Article 2 reminds us that every child has the same rights and should be treated fairly, no matter their race, culture, language, religion, abilities, or background. Article 30 reminds us that every child has the right to enjoy their own culture, speak their own language, practise their religion, and be proud of who they are.
As we celebrate Black History Month, we can learn about the achievements, experiences, and contributions of Black people throughout history and today. We can also celebrate the cultures, traditions, and identities that make our communities diverse and special.
Why it's important:
It helps children understand that everyone deserves equal rights and respect.
It encourages children to be proud of their identity, culture, and heritage.
It teaches children to value and celebrate diversity.
It helps children recognise and challenge unfair treatment and discrimination.
It reminds us that different cultures, traditions, and experiences help make our communities stronger.
At Home Activity:
Research an inspirational Black person who has made a positive contribution to society, such as an artist, scientist, inventor, athlete, author, activist, or leader.
On your poster, include:
A picture or drawing of the person.
Three interesting facts about them.
One sentence explaining why their achievements inspire you.
Remember: Every child has the right to be treated fairly and to celebrate their culture, language, and identity. By respecting and learning from one another, we help create a community where everyone feels valued and included. 🌟
