Primary Parent's Bulletin 05.06.26

Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents and carers,

As we reach the end of the first week of the final half term in the current academic year, I would like to share what a busy week it has been especially for our Year 2 children. On Tuesday, they enjoyed taking part in a Graffiti workshop and each child was able to produce their own piece of Graffiti art. Have a look at some of the photos into the gallery below. On Thursday 4th June, the Year 2 adults and children enjoyed a day trip to Skegness. Further details can be found below.

Next week, our Year 1 children will completing their National Phonics Screening Check. All the teachers and support staff have been working tirelessly to help prepare the Year 1 children with this reading activity. We would all like to wish the Year 1 children the best of luck for next week. They have already demonstrated resilience and perseverance in the preparation leading up to this assessment.

Looking further ahead, we have exciting learning opportunities planned for Science Week and we’ll also be dressing up for Yath Ratra later this month. Thank you again for your continued support with your child’s education here at Avanti Fields.

Warm regards,

 Ms. A Thakore

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

 Science week

Week commencing 15th June, we will be celebrating Science Week! 🔬✨

This will include a special dress-up day to end the week on Friday 19th June, where children are invited to come dressed as a scientist, inventor, or anything science-related.

What will you come as? You could dress as a scientist, astronaut, doctor, robot, animal, or even a planet!  There will also be a best dressed competition for each year group, so get creative!

Throughout the week, we will be taking part in some fun, hands-on science activities, exploring, experimenting, and discovering together.

It’s set to be an exciting week full of curiosity and learning!

Year 2 Visit to Skegness

Daffodil and Tulip Class had a fantastic day at the seaside in Skegness! We set off bright and early and enjoyed a wonderful day filled with fun, laughter, and new experiences. The children took a stroll along the pier, spent time playing in the sand, and treated themselves to some delicious ice cream.

To make the day even more memorable, the teachers joined in the fun and got a little cheeky with some water play, much to the children's delight! It was lovely to see so many smiling faces as everyone enjoyed making special memories together.

Look at our photos to see all the fun we had!

Year 2 Graffiti workshop

Year 2 were lucky enough to participate in a fabulous Art workshop where they explored how to create their own Art in the style of Graffiti. They found out about the world famous artist called Banksy and became inspired by this!

Rights Respecting School information

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.

Rights Respecting School information

Article 24 – Health, Water, Food and Environment

Every child has the right to the best possible health, including access to clean water, nutritious food, a safe environment and healthcare when needed. Children should be supported to stay healthy both physically and mentally.

Why it matters: Article 24 is important because a healthy child is better able to learn, grow and thrive. Access to clean water, healthy food and a safe environment helps prevent illness and supports wellbeing. In a Rights Respecting School, we teach children how to make healthy choices and understand how to look after their bodies and minds, helping them build lifelong habits.

At home activity: Create a “Healthy Me” diary for one week. Children can record things like what they eat, how much water they drink, how they stay active and how they relax. At the end of the week, discuss which habits helped them feel their best and how these link to their right to be healthy.
