Reception Yagna – A Joyous Start to the School Year

We were delighted to welcome so many families to our special Reception Yagna on Tuesday, 2nd September. It was wonderful to see our school community coming together to celebrate this important milestone.

A heartfelt thank you to the Avanti Fields PTA for sponsoring a Bhagavad Gita for each Reception child, and to Mr Preyesh Patel, our priest, for conducting a very meaningful and inspiring ceremony. We are also grateful to all staff and parents for their support and participation in making this event so successful.

This sacred Vedic ceremony, known as Vidyarambham, marks the beginning of the children’s spiritual and educational journey. Each child took part in the beautiful tradition of writing their name with rice, symbolising the start of their learning journey and receiving blessings for a positive and inspiring school life ahead.

It was truly a memorable start to the year, and we look forward to a joyful and enriching journey with all our Reception pupils.

Walk to School

We are very excited to announce that we will be starting a new initiative at our school called ‘WOW- Walk to school’. This is run by the organisation ‘Living Streets’ and is an exciting way for us to work together to become more eco friendly and further display our Avanti Values. The Year 2 and Year 3 children will be the first year groups invited to track how they travel to school each morning. At the end of each month, the travel tracker will identify which children have been most active at travelling to school and these children will be awarded with a badge! The aim is to travel to school by walking, cycling or park and stride for example at least once a week in order to be successful. Let’s embrace this challenge together and become Walk to school champions!

 Warm regards,

 Ms Thakore

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Stars of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Rights Respecting Article of the week:

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.

Article 3: Adults Should Do What’s Best for Children

Decisions in a Child’s Best Interests

Talk with your child about the different adults who help make decisions for them—parents, teachers, doctors, and others. Together, make a list of times when adults made choices that were for their benefit, such as keeping them safe, healthy, or happy.

Encourage your child to draw or write about a situation where someone made a decision that was best for them. Create a small display at home titled “Adults Care for Me By…”

This activity helps children recognise that adults have a responsibility to act in their best interests, and it builds trust and appreciation for the support they receive.

Student Data and Parental Consents

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are now into the second week of school, and our students are settling in well.

Next week, all students will receive a Student Data Sheet. Please review this carefully and make any necessary amendments directly on Arbor. To do this, log in to your Arbor account and update the information as needed. Please do not return the data sheet to school, as we will only be accepting updates made through Arbor.

If you have forgotten your login details, please email us at avantifields@avanti.org.uk, and we will resend them to you.

You will also receive a separate email next week regarding Parental Consents. Please read this carefully, log into your Arbor account, and tick the relevant consent options.

Providing this information is essential for ensuring the safety of all our students and maintaining clear communication with you throughout the school year.

Thank you for your continued support.
