Primary Parent's Bulletin 20.03.26

Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents and carers,

As we look ahead to the final week of term, there is a wonderful sense of excitement in school. We are very much looking forward to our Easter Bonnet competitions, the parent workshops, and of course, our Holi Festival celebrations. These events always bring our community together, and it will be fantastic to round off the term with such positive experiences for our children and families.

This week has also been filled with joy and generosity. It was lovely to see children come together and raise money for Comic Relief. We are still finalising the total amount raised and look forward to sharing this with you next week. Thank you, as always, for your incredible support.

It has also been lovely to see families enjoying the Book Fair. Promoting a love of reading is something we value deeply, and we hope that the excitement around books continues well beyond school. Thank you for joining us in fostering such enthusiasm for reading.

A gentle reminder to all parents and carers: please leave the school premises promptly after collecting your children. We kindly ask that families do not remain in the car park or allow children to run around in this busy area. This is essential for everyone’s safety—particularly with moving vehicles and increased foot traffic at the end of the day. Your cooperation helps us keep all children safe.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a vibrant and enjoyable final week of term.

Warm regards,

 Ms. A Thakore

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Appearance of Sri Rama - Ram Navami

Lord Rama, the Supreme Lord, appears in this world in a human form to teach us the ideal standard of character. Revered as Maryāda Puruṣottama - the perfect embodiment of righteous conduct - Rama shows us what it means to live with integrity in every role we hold. As a son, he honoured his father’s word without hesitation. As a husband, he remained deeply devoted and loyal. As a king, he placed the wellbeing of his people above his own comfort. His life is not just a story from the past; it is a living example of how virtue can guide our decisions, even when the path is difficult.

What makes Lord Rama truly inspiring is not that his life was easy, but that it was filled with challenges. Exiled to the forest, separated from his family, and faced with powerful adversaries - each situation tested his strength and resolve. Yet, in every moment, Rama chose dharma: to act with truth, courage, empathy, and self-discipline. He shows us that challenges are not obstacles to our growth, but opportunities to rise into a higher expression of our character.

For our Avanti community, Lord Rama’s appearance is a reminder that each of us can strive to live with purpose and virtue. Whether in the classroom, at home, or with friends, we are constantly faced with choices. Rama’s life encourages us to pause and ask: “What is the right thing to do?” When we act with honesty, kindness, and devotion, we develop the strength to overcome difficulties and contribute positively to the world around us. In this way, our conduct itself becomes a celebration, victory of wisdom over ignorance. Rama’s example continues to guide and inspire us every day.

Jaya Sri Rama - victory to Lord Sri Rama.

Rights Respecting School information

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.

Rights Respecting Article of the week: 💧 World Water Day – Articles 24 & 27

Every child has the right to clean water, good health, and a safe standard of living. Access to clean water is essential for health, hygiene, and wellbeing.

World Water Day reminds us that many people around the world still do not have access to safe drinking water.

Why it matters:

  • Clean water keeps us healthy

  • Water is essential for everyday life

  • We all share responsibility for protecting resources

At-home activity:

Can you have a go at creating your own water-cycle? Why is water important for us? Why not make a video!
