Primary Parent's Bulletin 25.09.26
Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, pupils in Years 2–4 completed their Autumn Reading and Maths assessments. These tests help us understand how children are progressing and celebrate the knowledge they’ve gained.
Working in partnership with you is central to supporting every child’s learning. You can help at home by sharing daily reading, discussing new vocabulary, encouraging children to explain their thinking, and practising number facts or times tables in short, regular bursts.
Before the end of this half term, we will send home your child’s completed Reading and Maths test papers. This will give you a clear picture of their strengths and any areas that may benefit from extra practice over the holidays.
Please read below about the Year 1 Art workshop. We are all very proud of the children for taking part in these sessions.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind Regards
Ms Thakore
Reminder : Parent's Evening
Our first Parents' Evenings of the academic year will take place on Tuesday 6th October and Thursday 8th October.
These meetings are an important opportunity to meet with your child's class teacher, discuss how your child has settled into their new class, celebrate their successes and ask any questions you may have. Teachers will also share your child's next steps in learning and provide practical advice on how you can support learning at home.
Please note that on Tuesday 6th October and Thursday 8th October, the school day will finish at 2.30pm for all children, unless your child is attending a pre-booked after-school club. Thank you for making the necessary arrangements for collection on these days.

Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Stars of the week
Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Year 1 Aboriginal Art Workshop

On Tuesday this week, Year 1 had a fantastic time during their Aboriginal Art workshop. They showed great courage and self-discipline as they carefully created their designs. The children used a range of different marks and demonstrated originality when designing their animals in the style of the artwork they had been studying. We were so impressed with their creativity and enthusiasm and we are really proud of all of them.
Rights Respecting School information

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.
International Day of Peace – 21 September 🌍🕊️
Articles 38 and 39 remind us that every child has the right to be safe. Article 38 says that children should be protected from war and fighting. Children should never have to take part in war, and adults should do everything they can to keep children safe. Article 39 says that if children are hurt, frightened, or affected by war or violence, they have the right to get help. They need time, care, love, and support to feel safe again and recover. The International Day of Peace was on 21 September. It is a special day when people around the world think about how we can make our world more peaceful. Peace is not just about stopping wars. We can all help to make peace by being kind, listening to others, helping people, including everyone, and solving problems without hurting others. Why it’s important: Every child has the right to feel safe. Children should be protected from war and violence. Children who have been through frightening or difficult experiences need help and support. Being kind and caring can help make our school and community more peaceful. Listening to others can help us understand different feelings and ideas. Everyone can do something to help create peace.
At Home Activity: Create a “Peaceful World” Dove 🕊️ Draw and cut out a large dove on a piece of paper. Inside your dove, write or draw things that you think help make the world a peaceful place. You could include kindness, friendship, sharing, helping, listening, respect, forgiveness, and teamwork. In the middle of your dove, write: “Every child has the right to be safe and live in peace.”
