Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the festive season, I am delighted to share with you some of the special events we have lined up in the coming weeks for our school community. We will have Christmas workshop and Christmas Fayre, a highlight of the year, offering festive stalls, games and opportunities for families to come together. We will celebrate Christmas Jumper Day where children (and staff!) are invited to wear a fun festive jumper in return for a small donation for Save the Children charity. Then we’ll round off the term with our Christmas party, complete with treats, music and plenty of seasonal cheer.
As we approach the festive season, we know many of you would like to send Christmas cards to each other. As part of the Avanti Way, we want to uphold our core principle of:
Strengthening connection. In Strengthening connections, we believe all life is interconnected and therefore strive to care for and respect all life- human, animal and plant- living in a way that causes the least possible harm.
With the above in mind, we are asking all pupils who would like to send cards to their peers and teachers to send a single card addressed to the whole class, rather than individual ones. This may even be a home-made card! Teachers will share and display these cards in their classrooms wishing all pupils a Merry Christmas.
We want to thank you in advance for supporting in making our world a better place to live in.
Warm regards,
Ms. A Thakore
Parent Survey:
We kindly invite all parents to complete a short survey and share your thoughts about our school. Your feedback helps us ensure we’re providing the very best experience for your children.
This is your opportunity to tell us what you value and what you feel could be improved. The results will guide a series of more focused surveys later this year, helping us shape our action plans and continue improving our school community.
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Christmas Fayre and Grotto – Thursday 11th December
We are delighted to invite you to our Christmas Fayre on Thursday 11th December from 3:00–4:00pm. It promises to be a fantastic festive event for our school community.
During the afternoon, we will be selling the children’s enterprise products, along with a range of other exciting stalls, including face painting and more.
Clubs will run as normal on this day except for Bhakti club. Parents can choose to collect children at home time at 2.45pm or wait until the end of club at 4pm. You will not be able to collect children during club hours.
Year 3 children will be dismissed early at 2.45pm and teachers will be sending out further details on this.

Christmas Jumper day and Christmas Party
We will be celebrating Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 11th December to raise money for Save the Children charity. Be festive, show off your best Christmas jumpers and don't forget to bring in £1 donation to show your support.
We will be hosting a Christmas party on the last day of term (Friday 12th December) in each class. To ensure everyone can enjoy the party, we ask that all party food brought in to be ethos-friendly, focusing on snacks that align with our school's values (no onion, garlic, egg, mushroom and nuts).
Additionally, children may come dressed in Christmas party clothes on Friday 12th December for their class parties.

Rights Respecting School information

Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.
Rights Respecting Article of the week:
🗳️ Articles 12 & 13 – Have Your Say! (Linked to UK Parliament Week)
Every child has the right to share their ideas and be listened to. You can also find out information and express your views safely and respectfully — just like MPs do in Parliament!
When children speak up kindly, adults can make fairer and wiser decisions. Everyone’s voice matters — at school, at home, and in the community.
At-home activity: 🏛️ Family Parliament – Have a fun family debate! Talk about something simple, like “What should we have for dinner?” or “How can mornings be calmer?” Take turns to share your ideas, listen carefully, and vote together!
