Head of Secondary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
We were delighted to host our Transition Evening yesterday, welcoming our incoming Year 7 students and their families. It was wonderful to meet all the new students and help them feel part of our school community. The student leaders were brilliant, providing tours, answering questions and supporting with the scavenger hunt. Thank you to Mr Giga for leading on the transition programme and planning a wonderful evening.
This week also marks the start of the summer GCSE examination series. We wish all of our Year 11 students the very best as they begin their exams and encourage them to approach this period with confidence and focus.
We are also in our PIP assessment windows across the school. Parents and carers can support their child by encouraging them to regularly check Microsoft Teams for revision resources, practise questions, and apply their knowledge in preparation for their assessments. Establishing a consistent routine at home can make a real difference during this time.
Wishing all our families a restful and enjoyable Bank holiday weekend.
Warm regards
Ms N Kholia

Department / Student Updates

We were excited to introduce the Year 8 Computer Science groups to Generative AI (Gen AI) in an engaging and age-appropriate talk. It was delivered by Dr M Solanki, a Principal Consultant – Data & AI at Accenture UK. She is also a registered STEM Ambassador and Tech We Can Champion.
Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that can create text, images, and even music based on patterns it has learned. The goal was to help students understand how AI works, its real-world applications, and how to use it responsibly.
During the session in school, students learnt about:
AI in simple terms using fun, interactive examples
Shown how AI can assist with creativity and problem-solving
Discussed the ethical considerations, such as misinformation and responsible AI us.
The types of careers currently available in the field of AI
Generative AI is shaping the future of work, opening up exciting careers in AI development, creative AI design, and even AI ethics and policy. Students who develop an interest in AI today could become the innovators of tomorrow, working in fields like robotics, game design, and digital art.
