Secondary Parents' Bulletin 07.11.25

Head of Secondary's Message

A very warm welcome back to all our students and families as we begin the Autumn Term 2. I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break.

It was truly heart-warming to see so many of our students at the local temple supporting the Hindu New Year’s Day celebrations. Seeing our students embody the Avanti Way through their selfless service and commitment filled me with pride and joy. Many volunteered from early in the morning through to the late evening, demonstrating kindness, community spirit, and dedication - values that truly reflect what it means to be part of Avanti Fields.

As we return to school, a gentle reminder that students should arrive by 8:15am ready for registration at 8:20am, and must be in full school uniform, including the correct school shoes (no trainers).

This half term is set to be a busy and exciting one, with a range of activities, events, fixtures, trips, and PIP assessments taking place across the school.

Our Year 11 students will begin their Spanish speaking mock exams next week, and Arbor reports will be shared via the Arbor platform at the end of November, ahead of the Year 11 face-to-face Parents’ Evening on Thursday 4th December (14:00-19:00). Further details regarding the Year 11 Parents’ Evening will be shared in due course via email. Year 11s will also receive feedback and moderated mock marks in their lessons over the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement at home - it makes a real difference in helping our students thrive.

Warm regards

Ms N Kholia

As part of our celebration of Guru Nanak’s birthday, students worked together to create a beautiful and reflective display showcasing their understanding, creativity, and respect for this important occasion. The display highlights the thoughtful work produced by our students and reflects the care and effort that went into its creation.

A special thanks to Mrs Samani for guiding and supporting the students through this project, helping to foster a strong sense of belonging and pride within our school community.

On Thursday 6th November, Emily from the UK Space Agency delivered a Space masterclass on Asteroids and inspired our pupils about roles in the Space Industry. With demonstrations, practicals and physics equations the pupils learnt about how scientists work towards keeping the Earth safe.

“This exquisite masterclass was an absolute marvellous session.  I thoroughly enjoyed the practicals, and I learnt a great amount of new information. The information I learnt was amazing and I would definitely attend this again.” Shlok S, Year 10

 “Very intriguing, fun and educational!”

“A great experience to learn how Physics we learn works in Space.”
