Head of Secondary's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been a fantastic few weeks for enrichment, with our students benefiting from a range of exciting experiences beyond the classroom.

A huge thank you to the science team for planning and organising the Year 7 visit to Twycross Zoo, which supported our enrichment offer in Science. Students had a wonderful day and particularly enjoyed the conservation talk, as well as the opportunity to explore the zoo and learn more about the importance of protecting wildlife and our natural environment. We were delighted to see students engaging so enthusiastically with the experience.

Our Year 8 students also had the opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom with a visit to the Black Country Living Museum. Thank you to the Humanities team for organising this trip to support the year 8  history curriculum. Experiences such as these provide our students with opportunities to bring their learning to life and develop their understanding in new and engaging ways.

A special thank you to Mrs Kansara for organising another successful visit to the Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre for our Year 11 CNAT students. The students had an amazing afternoon taking part in kayaking and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to develop their confidence, teamwork and practical skills. It was wonderful to see students embracing the challenge, supporting one another and making the most of this exciting experience.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students have represented the school during these visits and would like to thank all the staff who have given their time to support these opportunities.

Our Year 11 students have come to the end of their first set of mock examinations this week. We are pleased with the way the students have conducted themselves throughout the two-week assessment period, demonstrating positive attitudes and a mature approach to their examinations.

These mock examinations are an important milestone in our students' preparation for their summer examinations. They provide valuable information about what students know and understand, while also helping us to identify gaps in knowledge and address misconceptions.

Over the coming weeks, our staff will be marking and moderating the assessments and carefully analysing the outcomes. This will enable us to identify areas for development and put targeted support and interventions in place to help every student make progress.

We would like to thank our Year 11 students for their hard work and commitment so far, and our staff for the continued support they are providing. We encourage our students to use the feedback from these assessments positively and to continue working hard as they prepare for the next stage of their examinations.

We are very proud of the opportunities our students are embracing both inside and outside the classroom, and we look forward to continuing to provide experiences that help them to learn, grow and flourish.

Warm regards

Ms N Kholia

Car parking

We kindly ask parents to cooperate in parking safely and responsibly during drop off and pick up times.

Recently we have noticed an increase in congestion and inconsiderate parking around school gates along with Bhaktivedanta Marg which creates a serious safety risk for our pupils and wider community.

To help keep everyone safe and to ensure the smooth running of the school day, we kindly ask families to continue with their usual drop-off and collection routines (ONLY pre-school and Reception parents permitted to use the school car park for drop off and collection). In particular, we strongly encourage the continued use of park-and-stride arrangements, rather than attempting to drive into the school car park, turning into Bhaktivedanta Marg or attempting 3-point turns on the roads leading to the school.

Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support in keeping our school community safe.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together for an afternoon of bhakti, prayer, reflection and togetherness.

To help us plan the catering and avoid unnecessary prasad wastage, please register your attendance using the QR code on the poster or through TicketSource:

We are also currently raising funds towards a school minibus. Anyone wishing to support the fundraising can contact the PTFA at avantifieldsptfa@gmail.com.
