Head of Secondary's Message


Over the past two weeks, SLT have delivered a series of Parents’ Information Evenings. It has been a real pleasure to see so many of our parents and families attending and engaging positively with the school’s vision, policies and practices. Thanks to all those families that attended. The presentation slides for each evening have been shared with parents.


We are looking forward to our Secondary Open Evening on Tuesday 22nd September 2026. This event will provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the excellent work of our students and staff, while warmly welcoming prospective students and their families to experience life at our school.


Our extracurricular clubs have now begun, and it has been wonderful to see so many students signing up and engaging enthusiastically in the wide range of opportunities on offer. Many activities including our Sanskrit and Gujarati classes will begin next week. These activities not only allow students to pursue their interests and develop new skills, but also play a vital role in fostering character formation and providing valuable opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection. Many thanks to parents for signing up their children to various extracurricular activities and supporting the programme.

Small-Entry Results Summary

Further to last week’s GCSE Results Summary that was shared, this week we would like to recognise the outcomes for pupils entered in additional or small-entry subjects. While these subjects are not part of our regular timetabled offer, they add incredible value to our pupils and we would like to thank the staff for their support in preparing pupils for these examinations, and the strong results achieved by our pupils.

 Expectations around Car Park at school site


Dear Parents and Carers

 A reminder of our expectations around car park use at the start and end of the school day.

We appreciate that the weather and other circumstances presents some additional challenges, and we fully understand the importance of ensuring children arrive at school safely. However we have noticed significant congestion in the car park and the road leading to the school both during morning drop-off and afternoon collection times. Please be advised this impacts staff entering and leaving the school.

 

To help keep everyone safe and to ensure the smooth running of the school day, we kindly ask families to continue with their usual drop-off and collection routines (ONLY pre-school - Year 1 parents permitted to use the school car park for drop off and collection). In particular, we strongly encourage the continued use of park-and-stride arrangements, rather than attempting to drive into the school car park, turning into Bhaktivedanta Marg or attempting 3-point turns on the roads leading to the school.

Avanti Fields Secondary Open Evening - 22nd September 2026

We are delighted to welcome you to our upcoming Open Evening - a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our school, meet our staff, and see what makes our community unique.

What is included in the evening:

  • A presentation from the Executive Principal and Head of Secondary, giving you key insights into our vision, values, and what you can expect from life at our school.

  • The opportunity to meet our teachers and staff across various departments, ask questions, and learn about our curriculum and support systems.

  • An opportunity to learn more about our school, meet our staff, and see what makes our community unique.


    Important Information for Attendees:

    • Booking: Please ensure you book 1 ticket only, in the name of the Year 7 applicant/student via Eventbrite. This ticket covers the student and 2 parents or guardians.

    • Attendance Policy: To ensure we can accommodate all visitors safely and comfortably, we kindly request that only parents/guardians attends with the student. Extended family members will not be permitted to attend.

    • Parking: Limited parking is available on-site. Additional parking can be found at Tesco Hamilton, which is within walking distance of the school.

    • Arrival Time: Please arrive promptly at the time of your booked session, as late arrivals may miss key parts of the presentation or tour.

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter and lived in the Blue House, which is now a museum. Despite being bedridden for long periods of her life, she produced many vivid self portraits, exploring themes of identity, pain and resilience. Her legacy continues to inspire artists – it is is worth discovering her work.

🎵 Instrumental and vocal lessons at Avanti Fields

We are delighted to offer students at Avanti Fields the opportunity to learn a musical instrument or develop their singing skills during the school day.

Learning music is a wonderful way for children to develop confidence, creativity, discipline and resilience. Regular musical practice can also support concentration, memory, listening skills and organisation, which can have a positive impact across their wider learning. Just as importantly, making music can provide pupils with a positive outlet for self-expression, helping to support their wellbeing, confidence and sense of achievement.


We currently offer tuition in a wide range of instruments and styles:

There is something for everyone, whether your child is a complete beginner or already has some musical experience.


How do the lessons work?

Lessons take place during the school day, meaning students do not need to attend additional sessions after school. To minimise disruption to their learning, lessons operate on a half-termly rotating timetable, so students will not continually miss the same curriculum lesson.

Instrumental lessons are a fantastic opportunity for students to develop a skill that they can enjoy throughout their school life and beyond. They may also have the opportunity to perform in school concerts, events and other musical activities as their confidence develops.


Financial Support

We want music tuition to be accessible to as many students as possible. If your child is eligible for Pupil Premium (PP) or Free School Meals (FSM), we may be able to provide a subsidy towards the cost of lessons. Please contact us to discuss this further.

If your child has ever expressed an interest in learning an instrument or developing their singing, we would strongly encourage you to consider this opportunity. You don't need to wait for your child to be "musical" - learning an instrument is how they become musical!

Sanskrit Lessons for Years 7, 8 & 9

We are delighted to announce that Sanskrit lessons for students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be commencing from Monday 14th September 2026.

There are few places available if you wish to register your child for Sanskrit lesson please register via Arbor clubs.


Gujarati Lessons

We are delighted to announce that Gujarati lessons for students in Years 7, 8 and 9  ( Beginners )  will be commencing from Tuesday 15th September 2026. ( 15:30 - 16:30) Room - 191

Please Note: Gujarati lessons are paid lessons £40 per term.

There are few places available if you wish to register your child for Gujarati lessons please register via Arbor clubs.

Sign up will be open on Friday 11th September (17:00) until Tuesday 15th September (12:00 noon)
