Executive Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
It has been another busy and rewarding half term across our schools in Leicester, with many opportunities for our pupils to learn, grow and explore their learning in meaningful ways. We have also taken an important step forward by formally establishing the Leicester Learning Village, and we look ahead to the final stages of recruitment in the New Year to fully secure this exciting development.
Krishna Avanti Primary School (KAPS)
Our pupils have enjoyed a wide range of enriching experiences this half term, including Odd Socks Day and Anti-Bullying Week, a Year 5 Immersive Ancient Greece Day, a Year 3 Govinda’s food workshop, and our Christingle service at St Denys’ Church. Pupils have also taken part in Year 6 Avanti Sings rehearsals, Enterprise Week (raising £398), the Christmas Fayre, and Christmas Jumper Day (raising £211).
We have greatly valued welcoming parents and carers into school for our coffee afternoon, town hall event, and a range of workshops including PSHE/RSE, Year 4 MTC, Year 6 reading, Year 2 SATs, Reception dental hygiene, and Reception Christmas carols. Thank you to those parents who were also able to contribute to our recent Section 48 inspection.
For our staff, we were inspired on our INSET day when five schools across the Trust came together for the official launch of our Reading, Writing and Oracy project, led by the Open University. Over the coming year, this project will enrich our approach to literacy, with pupils already engaging enthusiastically in a competition to design new reading spaces across the school.
Avanti Fields School (Primary)
Pupils at Avanti Fields Primary have also enjoyed a busy half term, taking part in Odd Socks Day and Anti-Bullying Week, a Year 3 Govinda’s food workshop, a KS1 sports festival, and Enterprise Week. Pupils also attended the Christmas Fayre and celebrated Christmas Jumper Day.
We have been delighted to see parents and carers attend a variety of workshops and events, including Pre-school stay and play, Reception dental hygiene, Year 2 SATs, and Pre-school and Reception Christmas carols. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with you in the Spring term as we support your child’s learning journey.
Staff were similarly inspired during our Trust-wide INSET day, marking the launch of the Reading, Writing and Oracy project with the Open University. This work will support high-quality teaching and learning across the school over the coming year.
Avanti Fields School (Secondary)
This half term, our secondary pupils have taken part in a rich range of opportunities including National Space Academy masterclasses, sporting fixtures, Anti-Bullying Week, a Year 11 DMU food trip, Year 8 Avanti Sings rehearsals, and a Celebration Achievement Awards evening. Pupils have also participated in the Year 9 Girls in Computing event, a Year 8 trip to the National Space Centre, and Christmas Jumper Day.
We were pleased to welcome Year 11 parents and carers to our consultation evening, which this year returned to an in-person format and allowed for valuable face-to-face conversations.
Our staff were once again inspired during the Trust INSET day for the launch of the Reading, Writing and Oracy project, which will continue to strengthen teaching and learning across the secondary phase.
I would like to thank our Avanti Fields PTFA for their continued support this term, organising community events and contributing so positively to the life of our schools.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff for their unwavering commitment and dedication to your children. Their passion for inspiring spiritually compassionate changemakers ensures that high-quality teaching, enriching opportunities, and memorable experiences are possible for every pupil.
From everyone at the Leicester Learning Village, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Head of Secondary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
As we reach the end of a vibrant and fulfilling half term, I would like to extend my warm thanks for your continued support. Our students have taken part in an exceptional range of enriching opportunities - extracurricular and super curricular activities, educational trips, sports fixtures, House competitions, PTFA community events and volunteering projects. We also enjoyed celebrating our students’ successes at the awards evening and KS3 and KS4 celebration breakfasts, which recognised their hard work and commitment to our school values.
Thank you to all families who attended the Year 11 parents’ evening. It was a highly successful event, with positive feedback from students, parents and staff alike. We are pleased to confirm that Year 11 parents’ evenings will continue to be held in-person to support these meaningful conversations about progress and next steps.
As we enter the festive period, I wish all our families a wonderful Christmas. I hope the break provides time to rest, connect with family and friends, and enjoy the celebrations.
Warmest wishes for the holiday season and the new year ahead.
Warm regards
Ms N Kholia

Department / Students Updates
Lunchtime Queueing System
We are pleased to share that our new lunchtime queueing system has been a great success in the last 6 weeks. Students are now moving through the lines much more quickly, which means they have more time to enjoy their meals and socialise with friends. The smoother flow has also helped our catering team and midday supervisors serve students more efficiently, creating a calmer and more organised lunchtime experience for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support as we make these improvements to enhance the school day for our students.
Christmas Card Competition

The Spanish Department recently took part in a University of Warwick competition inviting students to design a Christmas card in any foreign language. We received a wonderful range of creative entries, with cards in Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, and Swahili. Thank you to all who participated. We were really impressed by your creativity and enthusiasm. All students have been given an R2 award for participating and results will be announced after the holiday.
Year 8 National Space Centre Visit

A group of year 8 students visited the National Space Centre on Monday 8th December. They explored and learned about various planetary objects and watched an 'astronaut' planetarium show! The students absolutely enjoyed the day and some mentioned they wished to have stayed longer.
Artwork
The art department would like to share some fantastic Year 9 paintings from this term celebrating Leicester architecture and local artists.

Gratitude flourishes into action as Year 7 students embrace the Avanti Way

We are delighted to share the ongoing success of the Gratitude Club, which empowers our Year 7 students to practise thankfulness in meaningful ways. Each Thursday lunchtime, students gather in the school library to reflect on what they are grateful for, beautifully demonstrating the values at the heart of the Avanti Way.
Over the course of the club more than 50 students have taken part, (with more than half attending regularly). Their reflections have been written on colourful leaves and added to our growing Gratitude Tree. The messages include appreciation for family, friends, teachers, our school community, and the everyday blessings we often overlook, such as clean air, a warm home, nourishing food, and free education. Many students expressed how mindful they feel knowing that many people around the world live without these basic needs.
It has been heart-warming to see students thank their peers for supporting them during difficult moments, building resilience and nurturing positive relationships. The energy in the room each week has been joyful and uplifting - a true testament to the power of gratitude in action.
Year 7 Drama

Our Year 7 students have been working hard to develop their understanding of key Drama vocabulary linked to voice and choral speaking. To help commit the words and definitions to memory, they designed vibrant and informative posters that showcase their creativity and commitment. These fantastic examples reflect not only their hard work but also their enthusiasm for learning and collaboration in Drama.

PTFA Events

The PTFA bids farewell to a successful 2025!
This year has been full of incredible achievements — from nataks, stand-up comedy nights, and musical shows to raise funds, to the collective recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa to give back to our students and community.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated PTFA team for their hard work supporting the Christmas Fayre, planting bulbs with students, and helping raise funds for the prom. The PTFA does so much throughout the year, and we are always grateful for the time and energy our volunteers contribute.
