Head of Secondary's Message
As we mark the start of Navratri, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our PTFA for organising the celebrations at school. Navratri is a nine-day festival that honours the triumph of good over evil and is celebrated with prayer, music, and the traditional dance of garba. This is a wonderful occasion that has brought our community together, reflecting the values we hold as a school.
It has also been encouraging to see such a positive start to our sporting fixtures this half term. Both the KS4 girls’ football team and the Year 10 boys’ football team have represented the school with great commitment. The KS4 girls in particular began with a series of excellent wins – a fantastic achievement and testament to their hard work.
Our enrichment programme is now well underway, with staff providing a wide range of clubs and opportunities for students to immerse themselves in activities that support their personal growth and character development. Looking ahead, our Year 11 students are excited to visit the Curve theatre next week to enrich their GCSE Drama course.
Warm regards
Ms N Kholia

Sports Fixtures update
KS4 Girls Football
The girls have started the season with strong performances, seeing them win all three of their games with incredible scores. We beat St Pauls 4-0, Madani Girls School 5-0 and Moat 1-0. Player of the match went to Divya C for scoring an exceptional number of goals and motivating her team.
Year 10 Boys Football
Our Year 10 boys Football team played in their first games of the season and although they were off to a keen start they unfortunately lost their games. The boys have time to practise and improve their skills and team work before the season ends.
School Council updates
This week the school council have deliberated over the submitted applications for the positions of Chair, Vicechair and Secretary on the school council. They have selected the following candidates to present their speeches the week commencing the 6th of October. The Candidates are;
Chairperson: Abhay (10 Water) and Gopal (9 Water)
Vice Chairperson: Krista (10 Water) and Tanish (9 Cosmos)
Secretary: Hanaya (8 Cosmos) and Pranav (7 Aether)
We were impressed by the very high standard of all applications, and we encourage those who were not successful this year to reapply next year.
Celebrating the work of our Avanti Fields GCSE Art Students
We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate some of the fantastic artwork created by our students. Their creativity and effort deserve to be recognised and cherished. By showcasing their work, we hope to inspire and encourage all our young artists to continue expressing themselves and exploring their artistic talents.

Our Elephant returns!
Did you see our Avanti Fields elephant in Abbey Park Café this summer? Our lovely elephant is due to return to us to live at Avanti from October onwards. We were set a target of raising £1000 by Loros. We aren’t quite there yet; can you help with a last-minute donation using our just giving page? It closes on 1st October – use the link below:
We will be holding a craft fair and raffle in school at various break and lunch times in the canteen the week beginning 29th September to raise a few extra pennies too before our October 1st deadline.
Navratri Celebration

Mr P Patel has kindly arranged daily Worship and Aarti sessions during lunchtimes in the Worship Hall. We are delighted to see a large number of students and staff members taking part in the celebrations and gaining a deeper understanding of the significance of the festivity.

PTFA Events
The PTFA is proud to be supporting the promoters of this year’s Navratri Festival!
It has been wonderful to see so many of our students take part and make such a fantastic effort with their traditional dress.
This year, the PTFA chose not to run the festival directly, as the opportunity arose for a 10-day celebration rather than the 2-day event we’ve previously hosted. Instead, we focused on supporting the promoters to ensure the event could go ahead successfully – with all funding going back to the school.
We’re delighted that Promotions has received such great support from the school community, and we hope to see this festival grow into an annual tradition with live music!
A very special thank you goes to our teachers for attending and supporting the event on Thursday, 25th September. (📸 Photo below!)
