Head of Primary's Message Dear Parents and Carers,   It has been a wonderful start to the school year. The children have settled in beautifully, showing great enthusiasm, positivity, and readiness for learning. Classrooms are full of energy and purpose, and it's been a joy to see friendships rekindled and new routines established with confidence.  Our recent Enrichment Day  was a fantastic success. Children from Preschool to Year 3 enjoyed either Fun Fitness  or Archery  sessions, designed to encourage teamwork, movement, and fun. It was a great way to ease back into school life and promote well-being across the early part of the term.  We are also pleased to launch three exciting pupil leadership opportunities  open to children across the school. These roles support the development of confidence, responsibility, and a sense of contribution to our wider school community.  🌟 Pupil Leadership Roles Now Open for Applications:   School Council  (Years 1–3): Represent your class, share ideas, and help improve the school.  Play Leaders  (Years 3–6): Promote positive play and lead games during break and lunchtimes.  Rights Respecting Ambassadors  (Reception–Year 6): Raise awareness of children’s rights and global issues.  If your child is interested, please support them in completing the relevant form below. Each form outlines what the role involves.  📝  Applications close on Friday, 26th September 2025   📌  Click below to apply : ➡️   School Council Form  ➡️  Play Leader Form     ➡️  Rights Respecting Ambassador Form     We’re looking forward to seeing our pupils step into these important roles and make a positive contribution to school life.   Warm regards,   Ms Thakore   Magical Moments    Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.   We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!   Sunflower This week Sunflowers have been enjoying yoga time, using scarfs to create large movements. Every moment has been filled with joy, laughter, and delightful discoveries! 🧘‍♀️✨    Preschool   This week Pre-school have enjoyed circle time, we have been learning our school rules and exploring different feelings. It has been delightful to see the children engage in their learning and express how they feel using The Colour Monster Story.   Reception   This week in Reception, we became nest builders! 🐦🪵🍃  We explored the amazing world of birds and took on the challenge of building our very own nests. Armed with buckets and big imaginations, we headed outside to collect twigs, leaves, and anything nature could offer. The children worked together to create cosy bird homes, just like real birds! Such a fun, hands-on adventure full of creativity and teamwork. 🌿✨  Year 1   In Art, Year 1 have been getting creative with mark making as part of our Art unit. The children used a variety of exciting lines and textures to design their own space-themed masterpieces, capturing movement and energy through their marks. From swirling planets to shooting stars, their imaginations truly took off!    Year 2   Year 2 have enjoyed exploring the map of the United Kingdom this week, naming countries, capital cities and the surrounding seas. One geologist even identified ‘Lough Neagh’, a freshwater lake in the centre of Northern Ireland. In History, we have also been travelling back in time to find out some interesting facts about the Great Fire of London.   Did you know it all began on 2 nd  September 1666 on Pudding Lane?     Year 3   This week, year 3 have been exploring different types of rocks in science. They have also been learning about how igneous rocks are formed and how lava erupts from a volcano. We used one of the children’s homework projects to explore this concept too!     Stars of the week   Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.   Acorn Class   Aaraiya P for showing creativity in her learning and playing kindly with her friends. Head of Primary's Message Dear Parents and Carers,   We continue with the positive energy from week one with another fantastic week. Our reception children have settled in well on their first full week back!   Please see below link for welcome message from CEO Avanti Trust https://youtu.be/EQFvpngoepI Reception Yagna – A Joyous Start to the School Year    We were delighted to welcome so many families to our special Reception Yagna on Tuesday, 2nd September. It was wonderful to see our school community coming together to celebrate this important milestone.   A heartfelt thank you to the Avanti Fields PTA for sponsoring a Bhagavad Gita  for each Reception child, and to Mr Preyesh Patel, our priest, for conducting a very meaningful and inspiring ceremony. We are also grateful to all staff and parents for their support and participation in making this event so successful.   This sacred Vedic ceremony, known as Vidyarambham , marks the beginning of the children’s spiritual and educational journey. Each child took part in the beautiful tradition of writing their name with rice, symbolising the start of their learning journey and receiving blessings for a positive and inspiring school life ahead.   It was truly a memorable start to the year, and we look forward to a joyful and enriching journey with all our Reception pupils.     Walk to School     We are very excited to announce that we will be starting a new initiative at our school called ‘WOW- Walk to school’. This is run by the organisation ‘Living Streets’ and is an exciting way for us to work together to become more eco friendly and further display our Avanti Values. The  Year 2 and Year 3 children  will be the first year groups invited to track how they travel to school each morning. At the end of each month, the travel tracker will identify which children have been most active at travelling to school and these children will be awarded with a badge! The aim is to travel to school by walking, cycling or park and stride for example at least once a week in order to be successful. Let’s embrace this challenge together and become Walk to school champions! Acorn Class    Veer P for settling in well and showing self-discipline by following instructions.     Walnut Class    Anaiya C for following routines and showing empathy to her new friends.     Buttercup Class    Kesavan T for being a kind friend and being helpful during our snack times.    Daisy Class    Neev K for coming into school with a big smile and a positive attitude to his learning. Bluebell Class    Vian S for setting a good example, always being ready and showing a smile!    Snowdrop Class    Jia T for being brave and showing resilience in the first week back at school!    Daffodil Class    Shivans C for showing excellent effort in all areas of learning. Well done for a super start!    Tulip Class    Hrithik R for a super positive attitude towards his classroom monitor role this week. He has also shown resilience in all of his lessons and strives for a challenge.    Cedar Class    Divanshi D for a great start to the year, and for always showing a positive attitude to learning.     Chestnut Class    Dhruv G for showing self-discipline and working extremely hard to be a model student.    Rights Respecting Article of the week:     Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.      Article 3: Adults Should Do What’s Best for Children   Decisions in a Child’s Best Interests   Talk with your child about the different adults who help make decisions for them—parents, teachers, doctors, and others. Together, make a list of times when adults made choices that were for their benefit, such as keeping them safe, healthy, or happy.  Encourage your child to draw or write about a situation where someone made a decision that was best for them. Create a small display at home titled “Adults Care for Me By…”   This activity helps children recognise that adults have a responsibility to act in their best interests, and it builds trust and appreciation for the support they receive.  Key date reminders:     September    16 th  – Y1 Parent/Carer reading/PSC workshop 3:00pm – 3:30pm    October   7 th  / 9 th  - Parents Evening 3.00pm- 5.30pm   15 th  - Pre-school Diwali parent/ carer workshop 8.00am- 9.00am   15 th  – Reception Diwali parent/ carer workshop 1.30pm-2.45pm   16 th  - Y2/Y3 Diwali Performance 1:45pm   17 th  – Y1 Diwali Performance 8:30am   17 th  - Diwali dress up day  We have an abundance of events that take place at school, to see the overview for the year please click on the link below: Term Dates & Calendar | Avanti Fields School   Student Data and Parental Consents Dear Parents/Carers , We are now into the second week of school, and our students are settling in well.   Next week, all students will receive a Student Data Sheet . Head of Primary's Message Welcome back!    Dear Parents and Carers,    I hope you have all enjoyed a restful and refreshing summer break. We are delighted to welcome you and your children back for the new school year, and extend a special welcome to the new families joining our community. We’re looking forward to a term filled with learning, growth, and exciting opportunities for all our pupils.  To help everyone settle in smoothly after the holidays, we are kicking off the year with an Enrichment Day  on Friday 29th August . This will be a fun-filled start to the term, designed to support the children’s transition back into school life:  Preschool children  will enjoy a lively Fun Fitness  session.  Reception to Year 3  children will be taking part in an exciting Archery  experience.  To ensure everyone can take part comfortably and safely, please make sure your child comes to school in their P.E. kit on Friday 29th August .  We are also pleased to share a special event for our new Reception pupils . On Tuesday, 2nd September , from 1:30pm to 2:30pm , we will be holding a Yagna (fire ceremony)  in the Reception playground to mark the beginning of their spiritual and educational journey at Avanti Fields .  This sacred Vedic ceremony, known as Vidyarambham , symbolises an auspicious start to school life, offering blessings and positive energy as the children begin their time at Avanti Fields. As part of the ritual, each child will take part in marking and writing their name with rice , a beautiful tradition representing the beginning of their learning journey.  We warmly invite Reception parents to attend this special occasion  and join us in celebrating this important milestone with your child. We can’t wait to see all the children back in school, ready for a joyful and inspiring year ahead.  Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration   We are delighted to share that, to mark Ganesh Chaturthi , our Reception children have each received a special Ganesha plush toy , generously donated by Cuddly Gurus  (a gift worth over £3,500). In addition, classrooms up to Year 2  in both Avanti Fields and KAPS will also receive toys for children to enjoy in school.  Cuddly Gurus explained that their hope is to help children connect with their cultural roots in a joyful and thoughtful way. Each toy has been lovingly created with great attention to detail and represents the values of kindness and compassion at the heart of this festival.  A big thank you to Dipak Patel, SSC Chair , for securing this generous donation and supporting our pupils to celebrate the season in such a meaningful way.  You can find out more about Cuddly Gurus at: https://cuddlygurus.com      Warm regards,   Ms Thakore  Magical Moments    Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.   We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!   Pre-School :We have had a magnificent start to the year, the children have been exploring their classrooms and getting to know the outdoor provision and making cakes in the mud kitchen. Our magical moment has been creating cards for Radhashtami, we particularly enjoyed using different colours and glitter.  Reception: We’ve had a wonderful start to the term, and the children in Reception have settled into school life incredibly well. They are quickly becoming familiar with our daily routines and have shown great enthusiasm and maturity. Our magical moment has been seeing them take part in our daily prayers with such sincerity and growing confidence.  Year 1 : have had a fantastic first week back at school! They settled in beautifully and enjoyed a range of activities, from poetry to exploring numbers in maths. A magical moment was discovering the work of Andy Warhol and sharing their thoughtful opinions on his artwork. The children also created their own colour wheels and learned how to mix primary colours to make secondary colours – their painting was so neat and impressive!  Year 2 : have had an amazing start to the year from taking on the role as poets in English where we have over learnt and performed a poem about The Great Fire of London. In addition to this, the children have developed their artistic skills through listening to music to inspire them to paint an ocean in the style of American artist Beth Krommes. Year 3 : have had a magical start to the year, as we've been busy consolidating our learning and growing in confidence across all areas of the curriculum. We've also been exploring the wonderful world of art through exciting techniques like tonking, sgraffito, and impasto—unleashing our creativity in bold, textured, and imaginative ways! Our first stars of the week will be announced next week!   Rights Respecting Article of the week:     Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.      Week 1: Making Rights Happen   Article’s you could explore which link to this topic: 1, 41 and 41   The Convention on the Rights of the Child brings together a range of rights that all children aged under 18 are entitled to, no matter who they are or where they are born. These rights ensure that all children are given the support they need to develop and reach their potential and are protected from harm. Governments across the world have signed up to the CRC and have promised to make the rights within the CRC a reality for children in their country and a number of articles specifically mention what governments must do to make rights happen.      Here is a linked activity you can do at home:   Under the CRC, children are rights holders; governments and adults are duty bearers who are responsible for making sure children’s rights are met. As a school, we spoke about who the duty bearers are in our school. Over the weekend, can you have a go at writing cards to thank them for making sure that your rights are enjoyed in school.  Key date reminders:   September    1 st  – school Photographs   1 st  - Afterschool club start  2 nd  - Reception Yagna 1.30-2.30pm  3rd - Reception Parent/ Carer reading workshop 3.00pm - 3.30pm   16th – Y1 Parent/Carer reading/PSC workshop 3:00pm – 3:30pm    We have an abundance of events that take place at school, to see the overview for the year please click on the link below: Term Dates & Calendar | Avanti Fields School   Reminder School Photographs The school has arranged individual student photographs to be taken on Monday, 1st September 2025 . This helps us keep the area safe and clear for all families.  We kindly request all parents to follow class home-time routines. Please remember to line up against the walls for your assigned class rather than crowding near the door. Teachers will call the children in line order, which helps ensure a calm and safe dismissal.  Also, a reminder for our Year 3 families, to continue using Park and Stride  unless you have a younger sibling in school, as this really helps to reduce congestion at the gates.     Thank you again for your continued support.  PTFA Events
