Head of Primary's Message   Dear Parents and Carers,  We are delighted to welcome everyone back for the Spring 2 term and hope you all had a restful break.    We have already kicked off the term with an exciting visit from our local Fire Service, who spoke to the children about the key fundamentals of fire safety. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about how to stay safe and were especially thrilled to see the fire engine up close!    This term promises to be another fun-filled and enriching one, with education brought to life through visitors, storytellers, themed drop-down days and, for some year groups, even an exciting trip. These experiences play such an important role in deepening children’s understanding and making learning memorable.    I would like to thank all parents in advance for your continued engagement and support with these events. It is this hands-on learning, supported both at school and at home, that truly helps embed knowledge and create lifelong memories for our children.  We look forward to a fantastic term ahead!    Looking Ahead: Special Events Next Week     Next week we will be celebrating Gaura Purnima alongside Reading Week . As these special events fall within the same week, there will be two dress-up days:  3rd March – Gaura Purnima celebration and dress up   5th March – World Book Day – dress up as your favourite book character     There will also be various opportunities for parents to engage with events during the week.  A gentle reminder to parents of children in Year 3 : if you do not have a younger child in a lower year group, you are required to park and stride . Please do not use the school car park for any events. If you are asked to move your vehicle, this may result in you being late and therefore unable to attend the event.     Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in ensuring our events run smoothly for everyone.      Warm regards,   Ms. A Thakore    Magical Moments    Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.   We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!   Sunflower This week in Sunflower’s we got to join our classes and have a very exciting experience of watching the firefighters in action spraying their hose and hearing the loud sounds of the Fire engine.     Preschool               This week in pre-school we have been exploring and talking about 2D shapes. We named the shapes and described its properties. We had a go at finding different shapes in the environment.  Reception   This week in Reception was full of excitement as we welcomed some very special visitors! Our amazing firefighters came to see us and taught us all about fire safety . We learnt how to stay safe, what to do in an emergency, and how firefighters help people in our community.    Year 1   In PE, we have been practising how to hold a racket to help us with bat and ball games. We practised balancing a bean bag on our rackets with one hand and even tossed the bean bag on our rackets like a pancake!  Year 2   In Maths we have been exploring measuring the length and height of everyday objects. We were challenged with using rulers, tape measures and metre sticks to explore in our classroom. We found out that 100cm is equal to 1 metre. We love being Mathematicians!    Year 3   In PSHE, we have been looking at helpful and harmful things for our bodies. • Secondary Parents' Bulletin 12.02.26

Head of Secondary's Message I would like to begin by thanking all parents and carers for your continued support throughout what has been a very busy and productive half term. Your partnership with the school plays a vital role in helping our students thrive. We are delighted with the excellent participation and outcomes from the Intermediate Maths Challenge. Many of our students achieved fantastic results, demonstrating resilience, problem-solving skills, and a real enthusiasm for mathematical thinking. We are proud of all students who took part in this national competition. Year 8 students took part in knife crime awareness workshops this week, which were both informative and impactful. These sessions provided students with important guidance around personal safety, decision-making, and the wider consequences of knife crime, and were delivered in a way that was age-appropriate and meaningful. As part of National Careers Week, students also benefited from a series of assemblies and talks that explored the wide range of routes available beyond school. These sessions highlighted the many pathways into further education and future careers, including apprenticeships, vocational qualifications, and traditional A level routes. Students found these opportunities highly informative and valued the chance to broaden their understanding of the options available to them. As we approach the half term break, we wish all families a restful and enjoyable holiday. A highlight of the visit was seeing some of the innovative work produced by current university students and touring the on-campus accommodation to experience what life as a university student is really like. • Primary Parent's Bulletin 06.02.26

Head of Primary's Message   Dear Parents and Carers,  As we reach the final week of Spring 1, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the growth we have seen in our children. Over the past weeks, they have shown resilience, curiosity, and a genuine eagerness to learn from one another. Every shared idea, kind action, and moment of collaboration has helped our school community to grow stronger together.    It has been especially lovely to welcome so many parents into school to engage with our ‘We Are Mathematicians’ week. Seeing families learning together and celebrating the joy of maths has been a real highlight. We want all of our pupils to strive and recognise themselves as mathematicians, geographers, writers, readers, artists and so much more. These focused subject weeks are designed to inspire curiosity and confidence, and we hope this experience has helped to revitalise your child’s excitement for maths. We also hope this sense of wonder can continue to grow at home through shared exploration and playful problem-solving.    Learning from others is a powerful part of the Avanti Way . By listening, showing respect, and supporting one another, our children are developing not only academically but also socially and emotionally.    As the first signs of spring begin to appear around us, we are reminded that growth often happens quietly and steadily, just like buds on trees and flowers beginning to bloom. In the words of Lord Krishna, “Just as a flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it, it just blooms,” reminding us that each child grows in their own time and in their own way.    We are proud of all that the children have achieved this half term and look forward to seeing how they continue to flourish as we head towards the half-way mark of the academic year. Sunflower In Sunflower room this week we joined Jungle Jo and saw lots of different minibeasts and reptiles.  Preschool    Jungle Jo came in to visit us at Avanti! We saw lots of different minibeasts and reptiles. We got to touch them and some of us showed courage, and we got to hold them.  Reception   Jungle Jo came to visit us with her incredible creatures, we learnt about different minibeasts, and reptiles talked about their natural habitats and we got to hold and touch them.         Year 1   In Year 1, we’ve been learning about what foods are healthy for us to eat. We have been using key culinary techniques to prepare vegetables for healthy snacks. We have practised using the ‘bridge’ and ‘claw’ grip to chop cucumbers and peppers. We also made a delicious raita dip to go with it!  Year 2     In Year 2, we’ve been learning about African textiles and Tinga Tinga art  We researched, designed, made, and evaluated our own material patterns — and look at the amazing results! We’re so proud of our creativity and teamwork.   Year 3   In Year 3, we have been learning how to code on micro:bits. We have created beating hearts, learnt how to write our names and even made the micro:bits respond to gestures.   Gate Timings Dear Parent/Carer We would like to share our updated gate opening and closing times for the primary phase. The theme is “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI”   Safer Internet Day is all about helping young people use the internet safely and responsibly, including understanding how AI can affect our online lives.  We will be reminding them of important messages about how to stay safe online, including using the internet responsibly, being kind online and knowing what to do if something worries them. We encourage you to continue these conversations at home.   The NSPCC has a helpful page for parents/carers with advice and guidance on online safety: Keeping children safe online | NSPCC      E-Safety Competition (Reception – Year 3):  Children are invited to create a poster or short comic showing how to stay safe online.   Reception / Year 1: Draw a picture of themselves using a device safely (e.g. asking an adult before clicking, using safe apps, asking before sending a picture.  Year 2 / Year 3: Create a short comic strip or poster showing a safe online choice or what to do if they see something online that worries them.  The winning poster from each year group will be displayed in classrooms to remind children about being safe online.   Please hand-in entries to class teachers by Friday 13 th February 2026.   Numbers Day Celebration   We ended our Mathematical Week in style with Numbers Day , celebrating creativity and maths as well as raising money for the NSPCC! We can’t wait to continue exploring the world of numbers together!      Readathon     This is a polite reminder, Please bring your Sponsorship amount by Monday 9th February.    Please support your child’s sponsored read as much as you can. They’ll be helping kids in hospitals get books, as well as helping themselves, and our school receives free books worth 20% of our grand sponsorship total, so there really is something in it for everyone.  Stars of the week   Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.   Acorn   Jinash for trying really hard with his learning all week and showing courage when feeling sad.  Walnut   Jiya for being resilient when counting. She independently ordered the minibeasts onto the leaves and matched them to the right number.  Buttercup   Heny has been working hard and using her Fred talking to write words this week! Well done Heny! 😊   Daisy   Aryan.M for making fantastic progress in phonics and not giving up in trying to remember his set 1 sounds, well done Aryan!  Bluebell Krisha M for being an enthusiastic learner especially in Maths. Well done!  Chestnut Vedhith – for setting in well and contributing great ideas in class. You are a great new addition to our class 😊   Rights Respecting School information     Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles.   💙  Rights Respecting Article of the week: Respect for Children’s Views – Article 12   Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously. This right applies at all times, for example during immigration proceedings.     This week we focused on who respects children’s views. We spoke about how duty bearers have our best interests, and how they help us reach our full potential.  Why it matters:   When we include and respect everyone, our classrooms and communities become kinder and stronger.   At-home activity:   This week you will get a paper copy of this homework.  ☁️ Think about what your face looks like when you like something, when you don’t like something, or when you are scared or excited. Can you tell how someone else is feeling by looking at their facial expressions? How can we ‘hear’ people even when they don’t speak so that we can respect their views?   Key date reminders:   February   13 th - AST staff training day, school closed.  16 th -20 th - Half Term    March   3 rd - Gaura Purnima celebration and dress up  4 th – Preschool - Y1 ‘stay and read’ 1.45- 2.15pm  5 th - Y2 & Y3 ‘stay and read’ 1.45- 2.15pm         -World book day- dress up.  25 th – Easter bonnet Competition  25 th – Preschool Easter Parent/Carer workshop 2:00pm – 3:00pm  26 th -Reception Easter parent/ carer workshop 1.30pm- 2.45pm  27 th – Holi Celebration (End of Term)  We have an abundance of events that take place at school, to see the overview for the year please click on the link below: Term Dates & Calendar | Avanti Fields School     SENDIASS Leicester Information: Please find enclosed leaflet for parents and carers of young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs or disabilities. • Secondary Parents' Bulletin 06.02.26

Head of Secondary's Message Week one of the Year 11 mock exams has been running smoothly, and we are very pleased with the way students have approached this important period. We continue to reinforce high expectations around exam conduct, routines and JCQ exam regulations to ensure students are well prepared for their final GCSEs.  We are looking forward to a fantastic day of workshops on Tuesday as part of our PSHE provision:  Year 8 Knife Crime workshops   National Careers Week EMAAN workshops    These sessions are designed to support students’ personal development, safety awareness and future aspirations.  I would like to extend my thanks to Ms Vaghela for organising a fantastic trip to Bletchley Park for our Year 8 students, and to Mrs Parekh for planning an exciting visit to the DMU laboratories for our Year 9 students. Students thoroughly enjoyed both enrichment opportunities, which provided valuable real-world learning experiences beyond the classroom.  Next week we will be welcoming several Trust teams as part of our ongoing quality assurance processes. These visits focus on areas such as assessment, progress, spiritual insight and health and safety, helping us to continually improve the experience for all students.  A reminder that the school will be closed to students on Friday 13 th February for a staff training (INSET) day. This day is dedicated to professional development to further strengthen teaching and learning across the school.  A reminder only GCSE Art students will be required to come to school to complete their art mock exam during the INSET day. Monday 16 th February – Friday 20 th February: Half Term break   Department / Students Updates Gate Timings We would like to share our updated gate opening and closing times for the secondary phase. Thank you in advance for taking a moment to read through them. Secondary start of day (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri): 07:20 – 08:25 Secondary start of day (Wed): 08:45 – 09:10 Secondary end of day: 15:20 – 15:35 End of secondary detention: 15:50 – 16:05 For any clubs or detentions that finish at 16:30, please use the park and stride route, as only the pedestrian gate will be open at that time. This helps us keep the site safe and calm for all our students at the end of the day. Thank you for your continued support. Behaviour expectations during the mock exams During the GCSE mock exam season, we would like to inform you of some important expectations regarding student behaviour, particularly in and around the PE corridor and changing rooms. The changing rooms are directly connected to the main sports hall, where all GCSE exams are taking place. To ensure our centre remains fully compliant with JCQ examination regulations and to provide our Year 11 students with the quiet, respectful environment they deserve, it is essential that all students follow the behaviour expectations that have been clearly and explicitly communicated to them. Students must not communicate with others at any point along the PE corridor or while in the changing rooms. Sound easily carries through to the sports hall and any noise can disrupt exams, potentially compromising the exam conditions for those sitting them. Please note that: Any student who communicates in these areas will be issued with a C3. These rules are in place throughout the exam season and are non-negotiable. Students are reminded to show self-discipline and respect for those currently sitting exams - your child will be experience sitting their GCSEs in future exam seasons and would appreciate the same level of respect. We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing this message at home, helping students understand the importance of maintaining a quiet and respectful environment during this critical period. Thank you for your continued support. PE Department  Art Mock Exam: Friday 13 th  February 09:00 – 15:00 All GCSE Art students will be completing their 5-hours Art mock Exam on Friday 13 th February. This mock exam is part of the students’ exam project and will also prepare students for the 10-hour exam that will take place over 2 days in March (23 rd and 27 th  March).    Gratitude club updates As part of our continued focus on gratitude across the school, students have taken part in the ‘Choose One Change - Write One for 2026’ initiative. Instead of aiming for big resolutions, students were encouraged to choose one small, realistic change that could strengthen their wellbeing and positively impact others - the Avanti way.  During lunchtime in Gratitude Club, participation has been fantastic, with over 50 students taking part so far. What has stood out most is the maturity and purpose behind their choices. Students have committed to changes such as arriving at school on time, practising kindness, being respectful, reducing screen time, reading more, listening carefully in lessons, and supporting others. These are not just ‘goals’ -  they are actions that build character, strengthen community, and create a culture where everyone can thrive.  Each student recorded their chosen change on a leaf, which will form part of the Gratitude Tree in the library. This growing display delivers a clear and inspiring message: small changes, repeated daily, create lasting impact. This initiative has reinforced our values and expectations in a meaningful, student-led way. It has been especially encouraging to see students taking ownership of their behaviour and recognising the role they play in shaping the culture of our school. This is empowerment in action - young people making intentional choices that improve their lives and uplift others.      Workshops by Leicester City Youth Service As part of the PSHE curriculum, Year 8 will be attending a workshop delivered by the Youth Service.  The workshops are aimed to educate young people on the laws and effects of knife crime and to develop knowledge and safety.  Subjects covered will include joint enterprise and the impact on victims, families and the wider society.  We are very excited to welcome the Youth Workers into Avanti Fields and hope that the students find the workshops interact and informative.  The workshops will form part of the usual daily timetable and will not affect start time, break, lunch or home time.  Each tutor group will attend 1 x 55-minute session.  Workshops are designed to be age appropriate and tailored to each year group.   Workshops and an assembly are also scheduled for other year groups as listed below, and reminders will be sent in due course.  Tuesday 10 th February - Workshops for Year 8  Tuesday 10 th March - Assembly for Year 11  Thursday 12 th March - Workshops for Year 9  Wednesday 15 th April - Workshops for Year 7  The Eco Committee updates As our eco committee aim to achieve the eco badge, we have added a wonderful addition to our garden - bird feeders. Our initiative is to help local wildlife especially in the winter, therefore adding wild bird seeds and suet cakes will help the birds have the required nutrients they need. We hope by the end of this academic year we will achieve our goal to earn the eco badge and increase biodiversity in our local area.   CyberFirst Trailblazer Event The next CyberFirst Trailblazers event for Year 8  is happening on Saturday 7 th February 2026.   This free half day event is designed to showcase the varied opportunities that can be achieved through the understanding of how technology is used in the workplace. This is the second in a series of CyberFirst events which will start each student on the exciting path of considering which GCSE’s they will take and how Computer Science can play a key role in future career prospects. Sessions will be delivered alongside a DMU open day, so the whole family can enjoy the day. The session aims to achieve the following learning outcomes: Develop an understanding of how technology is used in the workplace Identify how Computer Science can play a key role in future career prospects, not just within programming and coding Consider Computer Science as a subject at GCSE Demonstrate Computer Science at University Please click on the link below for further information:   Parents and Carers resources for Spring Term Please see link below to register for the live parents and carers webinars and access resources: Bitesize video link 'Bitesize' 15-minute videos about common mental health difficulties in adolescence: anxiety and low mood. • Primary Parent's Bulletin 30.01.26

Head of Primary's Message   Dear Parents and Carers,    At our school, we place great value on the rich learning that happens beyond the classroom. This week, our EYFS children were delighted in exploring a variety of mini-beasts with Jungle Jo, sparking curiosity, wonder and hands-on learning. Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Mathematicians’ Week  and National Storyteller Week . As part of this, we will be welcoming a storyteller into school to inspire imagination and promote a lifelong love of reading for pleasure. These experiences play a vital role in supporting children’s confidence, creativity and enjoyment of learning. Warm regards,   Ms. A Thakore    Key Updates: The school has recently updated our invacuation and lockdown sounding system and have updated our procedures because of this. We have shared the updated procedures with staff today. Next week, we will be running a drill to ensure that all pupils are familiar with the new sounding system. Please do not be concerned if your child comes home next week sharing that they were in a ‘lockdown’. Thank you for your continued support. Magical Moments    Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Avanti Fields is all about.   We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!   We Are Mathematicians Week – February 2026     We are excited to be celebrating We Are Mathematicians Week in school, filled with fun, engaging activities that inspire a love of numbers and problem-solving.    The week will begin with a launch assembly, followed by competitions and creative dress-up activities to bring maths to life.    Parents and carers are warmly invited to join our “Stay and Count” sessions, where you can spend time in class taking part in maths activities with your child:    4th February – Pre-school Stay and Count: 8:00am – 9:00am  4th February – Reception & Year 1 Stay and Count: 1:45pm – 2:15pm  5th February – Year 2 & Year 3 Stay and Count: 1:45pm – 2:15pm  6th February : Number day dress up   The week will end with NSPCC Number Day on 6th February, when children are invited to come to school dressed as rock stars with a number or mathematical theme. This year, we are combining the Times Table Rock Stars theme with Number Day — so let the creativity begin!    We kindly ask each child to bring £1 as a donation to support the NSPCC on this day.    We look forward to a fantastic week of maths fun and learning!    Readathon   We are running a Read for Good Readathon and we’d love your child to join in.  Please bring your Sponsorship amount by Monday 9th February.    The charity Read for Good encourages children to read through its unique motivational approach that inspires reluctant readers to give reading a go and keen readers to read more widely. Pupils can choose whatever they want to read - from comics to classics and audiobooks to blogs - they are not being assessed, it’s all about reading for fun! And, they are motivated to read because the money they raise in sponsorship helps to provide a regular supply of brand new books and a resident storyteller to every major children’s hospital in the UK.  All you have to do is:  Take a look at what they plan to read, or help them complete their list of books to read. Remember they can read whatever they want: books, e-books, poetry, comics – anything goes! Sharing books is fine too (in fact recommended!) as well as listening to audio books.  Help your child find sponsors among family and friends. • Secondary Parents' Bulletin 30.01.26

Head of Secondary's Message Last week, our Key Stage 4 students enjoyed a live performance of Macbeth at school. The students were highly engaged throughout, and the visiting theatre company shared very positive feedback about their excellent conduct, respect and enthusiasm. We would like to thank the PTFA for supporting this event, and Poonam and the English department for organising such a memorable learning experience.  Over the past two weeks, attended the AST induction days over the past two weeks, led by James Biddulph. This has supported staff in developing a strong understanding of the Avanti Way, our core values and ethos, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for our students.  Next week, we have a number of exciting enrichment opportunities planned for our Year 8 and Year 9 students. Year 8s will be visiting Bletchley Park as part of the mathematics enrichment programme, while Year 9s will take part in practical workshops at De Montfort University laboratories as part of the science super-curricular offer. These experiences are designed to bring learning to life and help students see the real-world applications of their studies.  A reminder our next INSET day will take place on Friday 13 th February . Only GCSE Art students will be required to come to school to complete their art mock exam. Students and parents have been informed of the arrangements for the day. Please ensure your child arrives to school on time for their art mock exam.    Warm regards Ms N Kholia  Key Updates: The school has recently updated our invacuation and lockdown sounding system and have updated our procedures because of this. We have shared the updated procedures with staff today. Next week, we will be running a drill to ensure that all pupils are familiar with the new sounding system. Please do not be concerned if your child comes home next week sharing that they were in a ‘lockdown’. Thank you for your continued support. School closed to students (ONLY Y11 GCSE Art students required to attend). Department / Students Updates Behaviour expectations during the mock exams As we enter the GCSE mock exam season, we would like to inform you of some important expectations regarding student behaviour, particularly in and around the PE corridor and changing rooms. • Secondary Parents' Bulletin 23.01.26

Head of Secondary's Message Last week, we were proud to host the Leicester City Heads’ meeting at Avanti Fields. This provided an opportunity for school leaders from across the city to visit our school and see learning in action. They were extremely impressed by our students, in particular, how confidently and thoughtfully they articulated their learning and ideas during learning walks. Visitors also commented positively on how clearly our ethos and values were visible both inside and outside the classroom.  Our Year 11 students have now had an assembly focused on the upcoming February mock examinations, which will take place from Monday 2 nd February to Friday 13 th February . The mock exams timetable has been shared with students. Please encourage your child to use the effective revision strategies discussed in assembly and reinforced by teachers in lessons. It is essential that Year 11 students arrive in school no later than 08:10 in full uniform during the mock period so they are ready for a prompt start to morning mock registration, as we must adhere to JCQ examination regulations.  A reminder that our Year 8 Virtual Parents’ Evening will take place on Thursday 29 th January from 14:00 - 19:00 . Year 10 and 11 ‘Macbeth’ Production On Thursday 22nd January, the Avanti Fields English Department proudly hosted live performances of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ for our Year 10 and Year 11 students by the Dickens Theatre Company. This unforgettable experience brought the GCSE text to life, transforming the classroom page into a dynamic, immersive theatrical world.   Students had the rare opportunity to witness professional stagecraft up close, experiencing the tension, atmosphere and dramatic power of Shakespeare’s work exactly as it was meant to be seen. The performances not only deepened their understanding of key themes and characters but also boosted their confidence and enthusiasm as they prepare for their GCSE examinations.   It was an inspiring day that showcased our commitment to enriching learning through memorable, high‑quality experiences. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful PTFA for generously funding this invaluable experience and for their continued dedication to championing the Arts within our school community.   Year 11 Health Fair: Friday 30 th January  We are pleased to share with you that we have some external agencies holding a Health Fair for our Year 11 students on Friday 30 th January .  Students will have access to talk to professionals from the School Nursing team, Mental Health Support, Turning Point and Young Carers.   We will also be extending the offer to any parents who may wish to visit in the main hall from 15.45 - 16.15. These agencies can offer a range of advice and signposting for both students and families.      Berberine Patches and other supplements available online Young people have access to the internet in the palm of their hands and whilst this is an amazing tool, however, it also has many dangers.  Something that is trending currently are appetite suppressants.  These are often marketed by famous celebrities and appear on Facebook and Tik Tok algorithms.  These products are not always safe and are not recommended for people under the age of 18. Please talk with your children and encourage open conversation around body image and healthy lifestyle choices.   Exam Stress Pop-Up stand   This initiative was very well received by students earlier in the week, with many engaging positively and expressing appreciation for the support provided during a particularly stressful period. Students found the resources and conversations helpful, reassuring, and timely, and the overall atmosphere was calm and supportive.   Thank you to Mrs Martin for facilitating and supporting this initiative. Enabling initiatives like this make a meaningful difference to student wellbeing, and its success reflects the value of prioritising mental health during exam periods. This production links directly to the English GCSE curriculum and gave students a valuable opportunity to visually engage with Shakespeare’s play, helping them to better understand the story, characters, and themes.   Thanks to the funds raised by the PTFA, we were able to invest £3,000 in this performance. This is exactly how we aim to use PTFA funds - supporting activities that directly benefit students’ learning and outcomes.   We would love your continued support at future PTFA events, so that we can keep arranging enriching experiences like this for our students, especially as they prepare for their GCSEs. • Primary Parent's Bulletin 23.01.26

Head of Primary's Message   Dear Parents and Carers,    Attendance and Working in Partnership    Thank you to all who attended our recent Parents’ Evening. Your time, commitment, and engagement mean a great deal to us and make a real difference to your child’s learning and wellbeing.  Strong attendance at school is vital. Every day in school helps children build confidence, develop friendships, and make steady progress in their learning. When children attend regularly and arrive on time, they are better able to fully access lessons and feel secure as part of the school community.    Here is the current attendance for each class:  Bluebell  92.7%  Acorn  92.4%  Tulip  92.3%  Chestnut  92.2%  Cedar  92.1%  Daffodil  92.1%  Daisy  92.1%  Walnut  92.1%  Buttercup  92%  Snowdrop  92%   Tulip and Bluebell are currently blasting ahead in the lead as our attendance winners, as they’re the closest to Neptune! But with 3 weeks still to go until the end of term, anything could happen and the leader board could change at any moment! Everyday counts — great attendance could make all the difference in helping your class climb closer to Neptune! We can’t wait to see who will be crowned the winners this term… and remember, their treat is still a surprise!  Working in partnership with families is at the heart of the Avanti Way . By sharing information, celebrating successes, and addressing any concerns together, we create the best possible environment for children to thrive. Your support strengthens the positive link between home and school, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us.    Thank you for continuing to work alongside us to give every child the very best start in their learning journey. Sunflower In the Sunflower Room the children have been counting and exploring numbers up to 10 and beyond. Pre- School In pre-school we have been learning how to build in construction. We have made different sized towers to look at tall and short.  Reception In Reception, the children have been exploring the fascinating world of dinosaurs. They learnt that some dinosaurs were carnivores and ate meat, while others were herbivores and ate plants. The children enjoyed discovering how different dinosaurs needed different types of food to survive.  Year 1 have been exploring printing with everyday objects in Art. They learned how to use printing, stencilling and reverse stencilling, and created their own artwork inspired by Karen Lederer. We were really impressed with their creativity and enthusiasm!  Year 2 The children have had an exciting opportunity to delve into exploring African Aboriginal art this week, with a particular focus on Tinga Tinga Art. The children independently created their own designs using a dotted pattern. Look how fabulous they are 😊 Year 3 This week, Year 3 have been Scientists, and are learning about contact forces. When you open a book, you pull it apart. When you do your zip up, you push it upwards. Which push and pull forces can you identify in your environment? Parents Consultation Evening : 20th & 22nd January 2026 We Are Mathematicians Week – February 2026     We are excited to be celebrating We Are Mathematicians Week in school, filled with fun, engaging activities that inspire a love of numbers and problem-solving. The easiest way to sponsor a child is by clicking the link https://readforgood.givingpage.org/readathon?custom_cFcFTPsmi6mdGDd=0016M00002WX7j2QAD&custom_R6cC4OEw44xOaz6=null   Send in your sponsorship money as you collect it and give it to your class teacher. These rights ensure that all children are given the support they need to develop and reach their potential and are protected from harm.    Why it matters:   Everyone should be able to reach their full potential   Everyone should be able to enjoy their rights.  At-home activity:   🖐 Under the CRC, children are rights holders; governments and adults are duty bearers who are responsible for making sure children’s rights are met.
